A list of interesting AI tools and websites.
- ChatGPT – The generative language tool by OpenAI that started it all. If you haven’t played with it yet, you really should. 3.5 is the free tier and is useful for a lot of different things. You can use it to tweak a resume, interpret lawyer-speak or doctor-speak, and even create content with it, like a short story or a blog post. ChatGPT is an even better version and if you subscribe you can create custom AIs that are preset with commands you have provided. I have created a couple already.
- JS & React Code Mentor – I have been refreshing my knowledge of JavaScript and React so I created this custom GPT that acts as a code mentor to provide me examples, show me where I went wrong, and even show me example code.
- SEO Content Wizard – I created this one to help generate content for a website (not this one, at least not yet). It isn’t a good idea to use content generated by ChatGPT directly because if Google determines it is AI-generated it will knock down the SEO placement but it can help if you are stuck on an article.
- Midjourney – Midjourney is an image generation tool used mostly through Discord. It can generate anything you can think of as long as it is within their guidelines.
- Perplexity AI – an AI tool that aims to do search better than Google. It provides answers to questions you ask like ChatGPT but unlike ChatGPT it will let you know the sources it used to get its answer. A very helpful tool if you need to be sure the answer is correct and want to dig deeper into the topic.
- Rabbit R1 – This is a recently announced pocket device that integrates an LLM with a “Large Action Model” (LAM) that allows you to not only talk to the AI but use the AI to play music, book an Uber, order from Doordash, etc. It’s another device in your pocket but it’s $199 with no subscription fees. I may order one!
